North Devon Journal – Gelato Village in Top 10 Ice Cream Parlours in UK

WHAT. IS. THIS?

TripAdvisor has revealed the UK’s 10 best ice cream parlours… but there is no mention of any creamy Devon goodness!

The top place goes to Di Polas in Hastings but from there the rage grows and, whisper it, Cornwall are in second place with Perranporth’s Perran Dairy Ice Cream Parlour.

Heck, there’s even a mention for Somerset’s PJ’s Ice Cream Parlour and ANOTHER Cornish parlour in Moomaid of Zennor in St Ives.

Extreme Housewifery – The Fantastic Issimo Range at Gelato Village

We popped back down to Gelato Village last night for an extra special midnight feast. It was a fantastic party, showcasing the new range, called Issimo. Made with the usual Gelato Village artistry, fresh ingredients and no artificial preservatives, so it’s fresh and delicious, the Issimo range is designed to give an extra special taste sensation. But as the ingredients are seasonal it’s not going to be around forever! The range will be available to the public from 18th July 2015 and we’ll see how long it sticks around for.

Extreme Housewifery – I’m in Italian-inspired heaven – at Gelato Village #Leicester

It’s been a good week. We’ve had food and beer matching, there’s been Leicester’s first frozen yoghurt, and of course I’m still embraced by the warm glow of the memory of our week in Catalonia. So I didn’t know it could get any better, that it would get better, and that I would meet even more incredible people and try amazing things here in our lovely city of Leicester.

Sugar Darling? – Gelato Village, Leicester

You know, really exciting things are happening in my home city of Leicester and it’s just wonderful. After the crash the high streets seemed to become the soulless home to chain store after chain store and I found it oh so depressing. I’m so so pleased that I can walk through Leicester now and visit little indy shops, restaurants and cafes – it feels wonderful to support local creatives and entrepreneurs, help boost the local economy and know that I’m contributing to my community. One of my absolute favourite places in Leicester is now St Martins Square, home to lots of lovely independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Walking through St Martins feels like you’ve stumbled upon a wonderful hidden artist’s area of Milan or Rome and that feeling is heightened when you look into the sparkling interior of Gelato Village a beautiful cafe serving gelato, sorbetto, Italian pastries and much more.

Leicester Mercury – Salted Peanut and Chocolate Gelato

If you have a taste for burgers produced with flair and originality, make a beeline for Crafty Burgers, says Tim Burke. But make sure you’re hungry…

St Martin’s Tea and Coffee has been one of the most lively independent businesses in Leicester city centre for years. After starting life as a cookware shop, it opened a coffee roastery, then combined the two businesses and opened a cafe, which eventually swallowed up the cookware business.
